Blog inspiration

28 Apr

Ever since I’ve moved to Sweden, I have found myself reading more and more (amazing) blogs that  have truly inspired me. The ones that I usually find myself reading are usually fashion/interior design/cooking/style blogs all mashed into one. I have decided that I want to add some of these features into my blog so I can find more inspirations to write instead of just giving updates.

Which leads me to my first food/recipe post.

A big thing here in Sweden is to have “fika”- or coffee and sweets break- towards the end of the week. Fortunately, my company provides the sweets for us- ranging anywhere from cinnamon rolls (kanelbullar) to fresh berry cheesecakes. At Joachim’s job, they too have these so-called fikas but they take a more “someone is delegated to bring in a treat on a specific day” approach. Thus, today was Joachim’s turn to bring something so I was the the one who was declared the “head baker” last night. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love to bake-cookies, brownies, cakes, muffins, really anything triggers my baking bliss. I think this stems from memories of my mom and I spending days in the kitchen baking sweets ever since I was little. Even now, we usually spend a day or two in the kitchen around Christmas time and make as many cookies as humanly possible. Which cookies did I make last night, you ask? Of course, my infamous chocolate chip cookies that I wrote about in my blog post yesterday. I managed to snap some pictures on my iPhone of the sweet, little things which will have to suffice until I get a better camera to use for my new **updated** blog.

I am weary of whether or not I should let you in on my SECRET recipe… I guess if I get enough comments about wanting the recipe, I’ll have to put it up 🙂 Enjoy! And try not to salivate too much over the pictures!

I know how delicious the cookies are but keep it a secret 🙂

Yes, I think so too 🙂 I still remember when we were trying to bake cookies back in the day and we got the recipe TOTALLY wrong and put in WAY too much crisco or something. Or maybe it was salt. Anyway they tasted horrid but we still had fun 🙂

Hey, Had — I miss those cookies — and your being in the kitchen making them. Don’t know what I liked better — the dough or the baked cookies. No matter — I alway ate too much and didn’t feel so well later on — but oh so worth it. Plz. unleash them on Sweden.
