Adios!

1 Sep

I’m brushing up on my Spanish skills (again) because I’m headed off to Palma de Mallorca from Saturday until Tuesday night with my company! It’s an island off the eastern coast of Spain, in the Mediterranean. If you aren’t sure about where it is, check out the map below (it’s to the right, above Ibiza):

Every year, my company takes all of the employees on a trip (last year it was to Barcelona) for a conference/excursion. Every morning we will have a meeting from 8:30-1:00 and then we have little things planned for the afternoons. The agenda is as follows:

Saturday: arrive in Palma around 6 p.m., head to the hotel, cocktails at the rooftop bar and dinner to follow.

Sunday: meeting from 8:30-1:00, then off to a Spanish restaurant in the countryside where we will “enjoy a good tapas lunch.” After lunch, we will go to a family-owned winery where we will take a tour and have a lovely wine tasting ending at the Puerto Andratx. We then arrive back to the hotel and have some more cocktails at the rooftop bar and then head off to dinner at an Argentinean restaurant “La Rueda I Genova” in a little mountain village above Palma.

Monday: meeting from 8:30-1:00, and then we have free time (beach, shopping, exploring, etc.) until 8:00 when we will meet again for cocktails at the rooftop bar. Dinner follows at an Italian restaurant “Il Paradiso” around 8:30 then it’s out to the local “discotecas.”

Tuesday: transfer back to the airport around 10:30 a.m. and then arrive back in Helsingborg around 5pm.

I am really looking forward to spending some more time with my colleagues outside of work. From what I’ve heard about past company trips, they can be pretty fun and people tend to really “let their hair down.”

I’ll make sure to take pictures of, what I’ve heard, is a very beautiful island.

Adios amigos!
