Day 27

9 Nov

It’s Wednesday and you all know what that means…it’s HUMP day! Feels good that we are halfway to the weekend, which means you should all be in wonderful moods today, right? Today’s photo challenge is:

A picture of yourself and a family member

Isn’t my grandma beautiful? Okay, I may be a little biased BUT she’s one great looking 88-year-old if you ask me! My grandma is the typical sweet, lovable, tells all her friends about you kind of grandma and I’m so glad that she’s still around. Unfortunately she’s the last of my grandparents that is still in my life so I plan to soak in as much time with her that I can. My grandma lives about 40 minutes south of where my family lives in Colorado and can always tell you the exact day and time that you were last at her house. You see, since I can remember (and my dad as well) my grandma has had this thing about remembering everything, thus she writes it in a little book so she can reference it in case some question ever arises about who was where and when. I adore her little quirks and can’t wait to see her for Christmas! Love you Grandma!!

A few things to discuss!

31 Oct

First of all, it’s this pretty lady’s birthday today…!

Yes, that’s my one and only sister, Lindsay, and she is turning 26 today! I am so lucky that I have her to look up to and always count on 🙂 Happy Birthday, Lindsay! I have a good feeling that this time next year you’ll have so many new and exciting things that will have happened to you during your 26th year!

Another important topic I would like to discuss is….THE ST.LOUIS CARDINAL’S ARE THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!

I am proud to say that I stayed up for 24 hours Friday-Saturday to watch the Cardinals win the World Series. On Friday morning I was woken up by my ESPN app alerting me that the Cardinals tied Game 6 in the bottom of the 9th inning so I jumped out of bed and watched them win (in historic fashion) before I went to work. I knew that I couldn’t NOT see Game 7 so I stayed up from 2 a.m. (when the game started) until 6 a.m. Saturday morning to watch them clench the title. I can officially say that I may be the only one in Sweden who really understands what the Cardinals pulled off but I am SO happy that they won. They definitely deserved it after being 10 1/2 games out of the playoffs in August!! WAHOO!! GO CARDS!!

I will also post a photo challenge today, so come back to find out what it is!

Day 18

27 Oct

A picture of your biggest insecurity

I am really not the type of girl that get’s down on herself and can list a million insecurities. But, if I did have to pick ONE thing it would be my hands/fingernails are my biggest insecurity. I have very teeny nails and it doesn’t help that I don’t let them grow. I think it all started when I started playing sports and when I got nervous I would pick my nails. It’s just a habit that I haven’t been able to get rid. Thankfully, while I’m home (in Colorado),  I usually have acrylics on but since they’re so expensive here (we’re talking 100 bucks for a set) I’ve had to let them go au natural. So there, now you know 🙂

Regardless of my nails, I am so thankful that I grew up in a family that always complimented each other. I always hear about girls whose mom’s always told them they were fat or ugly or whatever and I can’t believe some people do that. My mom and dad always made it a point to tell my sister and I how beautiful we were and I think that’s why we have the confidence and self-assurance that we do.

Day 16

25 Oct

Hello everyone! Today’s photo challenge reads:

A picture of someone who inspires you

This is my best friend Maggie. As many of you have probably read in previous posts, Maggie and I have been best friends since I moved up the street from her when we were 4/5. We were inseparable growing up. Whatever Maggie did, I did. Whatever I did, Maggie did and we never could imagine it any other way. What you don’t know is a little over a year after we took this picture, Maggie was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the ripe age of 23, Maggie’s doctor told her that the lump she found in her left breast was in fact, cancerous. What I witnessed over the last year was that Maggie didn’t let this whole cancer thing take over her life. Yes, there were days when she was sick and was tired but she never stopped living her normal life. I was so glad that I got to visit her in St.Louis last November when I was home from Sweden for a bit. It was so refreshing to me that even though Maggie had lost her hair and was going through chemo, we still acted like those same little girls who grew up on Arbor Meadow Ct.

Maggie- you inspire me to never take a single day for granted. That no matter what, I can get through whatever turmoil may be going on in my life. I am so proud of you and so honored to tell people about my 23-year-old best friend who is a breast cancer survivor. And even though we may be a million miles apart,  you will always be my best friend.

Day 14

21 Oct

It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday! Yippeeee 🙂 Today’s challenge is:

A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

It’s crazy to me that before March 2009 I never even knew Joachim existed and here I am thinking that I can never imagine my life without him. Which makes me think, how did I live life before him? I always knew that I wanted to find a man who had the same qualities of my dad, little did I know I had to go halfway around the world to find him. Joachim, I love you with all my heart. You’re the reasoning voice whenever I’m upset about something, the one who forgives so easily and can always make me smile when you do that crazy dance of yours. Jag älskar dig, Joachim…för alltid.

Day 10

17 Oct

Hey guys!

Sorry this post is going up a little later than usual but I’ve been really busy at work (and doing some extra work at home) that I’ haven’t had time to write the post for today! SO, here I am 🙂

Today’s challenge reads:

A picture of the person you do the craziest things with

Once again, I had to bend the rules JUST a bit to include more than one person because when all three of us girls are together, things usually hit the fan. Now, I’m not gonna go on and on about the crazy things that we do together (even though I know you’re dying to know) because who’s to judge us on whether or not the things we do are really that “crazy.” Right girls?!  All I know is that Angie+Krista+Hadley spells one good time!

P.S. Can’t wait to be reunited with you girls in T minus 59  days!! AHHHHHHH

Day 6

11 Oct

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Thank God the sun decided to shine today in Sweden because I was NOT looking forward to another dreary day like we had yesterday. Anyway, today’s photo challenge is:

A picture of a person you’d love to trade places with for a day

First of all, the woman is B-E-A-UTIFUL!

Second, she has one of the best, natural, voices in the music industry

Third, she’s an icon at the ripe age of 30 (and has been for quite some time)

Fourth, she’s married to the king of hip-hop, Jay-Z, and will soon have his baby (and probably a really adorable one at that)

And finally, she can literally go anywhere in the world in the drop of a hat, on a private jet, with an entourage all around her to pack her things, do her hair, put on her makeup and feed her. Well I don’t know if someone feeds her, but probably.

Need I say more?
