Day 27

9 Nov

It’s Wednesday and you all know what that means…it’s HUMP day! Feels good that we are halfway to the weekend, which means you should all be in wonderful moods today, right? Today’s photo challenge is:

A picture of yourself and a family member

Isn’t my grandma beautiful? Okay, I may be a little biased BUT she’s one great looking 88-year-old if you ask me! My grandma is the typical sweet, lovable, tells all her friends about you kind of grandma and I’m so glad that she’s still around. Unfortunately she’s the last of my grandparents that is still in my life so I plan to soak in as much time with her that I can. My grandma lives about 40 minutes south of where my family lives in Colorado and can always tell you the exact day and time that you were last at her house. You see, since I can remember (and my dad as well) my grandma has had this thing about remembering everything, thus she writes it in a little book so she can reference it in case some question ever arises about who was where and when. I adore her little quirks and can’t wait to see her for Christmas! Love you Grandma!!

New ‘do

4 Nov

Happy Friday, everyone!

I was lucky enough to have a half day at work today so I scheduled an appointment and got my hair re-colored. I went for a more intense ombre look and I am in LOVE with the outcome….wanna see??

Te gusta?

I have to give props to Malin at Studio Västra Sandgatan for all her good work 🙂 And if you like what you see, come to me and I can give you something special to take to her (as in a coupon) if you decide to go see her too!

Don’t forget to check back in a little bit for another day of the photo challenge!

A few things to discuss!

31 Oct

First of all, it’s this pretty lady’s birthday today…!

Yes, that’s my one and only sister, Lindsay, and she is turning 26 today! I am so lucky that I have her to look up to and always count on 🙂 Happy Birthday, Lindsay! I have a good feeling that this time next year you’ll have so many new and exciting things that will have happened to you during your 26th year!

Another important topic I would like to discuss is….THE ST.LOUIS CARDINAL’S ARE THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!

I am proud to say that I stayed up for 24 hours Friday-Saturday to watch the Cardinals win the World Series. On Friday morning I was woken up by my ESPN app alerting me that the Cardinals tied Game 6 in the bottom of the 9th inning so I jumped out of bed and watched them win (in historic fashion) before I went to work. I knew that I couldn’t NOT see Game 7 so I stayed up from 2 a.m. (when the game started) until 6 a.m. Saturday morning to watch them clench the title. I can officially say that I may be the only one in Sweden who really understands what the Cardinals pulled off but I am SO happy that they won. They definitely deserved it after being 10 1/2 games out of the playoffs in August!! WAHOO!! GO CARDS!!

I will also post a photo challenge today, so come back to find out what it is!

Too cute not to post…

24 Oct

Okay this has nothing to do with my photo challenge, but I came across the CUTEST pictures on Pinterest today and couldn’t NOT put them up…Take a lookie and I’m sure it’ll brighten up your Monday 🙂 P.s. A photo for the challenge is still to come today. Just think of this as a 2-for-1.

Day 14

21 Oct

It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday! Yippeeee 🙂 Today’s challenge is:

A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

It’s crazy to me that before March 2009 I never even knew Joachim existed and here I am thinking that I can never imagine my life without him. Which makes me think, how did I live life before him? I always knew that I wanted to find a man who had the same qualities of my dad, little did I know I had to go halfway around the world to find him. Joachim, I love you with all my heart. You’re the reasoning voice whenever I’m upset about something, the one who forgives so easily and can always make me smile when you do that crazy dance of yours. Jag älskar dig, Joachim…för alltid.

Day 13

20 Oct

Det är torsdag och jag studerade svenska i skolan ikväll 🙂 Can anyone make a wild guess as to what this means?! On another note, today’s photo challenge is:

A picture of your favorite band/artist

This is Justin Nozuka. Many of you probably don’t know who he is and that is a shame. Actually it’s better for me because then I can have him all to myself 🙂 Kidding. But seriously. This guy has got some seriously chops on him and is quite the talented musician. His most famous song is “After Tonight” in which I had the pleasure of introducing to many of my friends as soon as it came out (I wanna say 3 years ago) and got them hooked 🙂 You know who you are. Anyway, I’ll leave some links at the bottom of this post to some of his best songs so you guys can go check him out.

Day 12

19 Oct

Hello everyone and happy hump day!! This week has flown by so far (for me at least) because I’ve been super busy at work and after work with the gym and class and everything else. Today’s photo challenge is:

A picture of something you love

I had to switch my answer around because this challenge says a picture of SOMETHING you love, not someone or somebody you love. Thus, I had to take down the picture of all my friends and family and put up a picture of a THING I love, which is to laugh, smile, have a good time, etc. I think the only way to live life, and live it well, is to have a constant positive outlook on any situation that you happen to be in. I also think that to life a LONG life you must be always surround yourself with people who make you laugh and who you know will always be up to make others smile.

When I first moved to Sweden, I realized that no one here smiles at each other and it really took me a while to get over. At first, I was a bit upset that no one was smiling back at me on the street but then I realized that it’s their culture to not engage with someone that you do not know. I have stopped smiling at people for a while now, but came to a realization recently that I don’t care and that I’m still going to be me and smile at people, even if they look at me like I have two heads. Smiling makes ME feel better and that one time someone actually smiles back, will make my day that much better.
